Old Blogs
As mentioned in the last blog this is a copy of the text from old blogs that I found!
August 2016- Flossy's Flowers have had a very exciting couple of months this summer, a lot of craft fayres and two wedding fairs already! We have been working hard to come up with new designs and ideas and cannot wait to share our new products with you all!
We are very excited to be starting our blog and are looking forward to sharing all our news with you.
We have received our new portable studio and have been taking photos of all our new products, we have also taken in a huge order of our large celebration bears!
August 2016 - This month has been a busy one and we have been coming up with new designs, some have really tested our creativity and others have been a joy to create from beginning to end. We have a range of hair accessories that will be released soon as well so keep watching this space for our next announcements!
First is our 'Pretty in Pink' wedding range, with Pink Roses, Ivory Calla Lilies, Ivory and Pink Stargazer Lilies and Ivy. We have also lovingly put diamantes into the centres of some of the roses and have hidden some pearl embellishments in amongst the arrangements too. We have created a cascading Bridal Bouquet, a Posy Bridesmaid Bouquet, a Centre Piece that doubles up as a Table Number, a Flower Girl Basket and Pin Corsages and Buttonholes. We have also created a beautiful Topiary Centre Piece in the same flowers, but it is too tall for our studio! We will have to be clever and work out a way to photograph it.
This is the cascading Bridal Bouquet, we have used an angled bouquet holder and (you can see it better on the Bridesmaid Posy) we have been experimenting with a hand-tied look. This took quite a while to get perfect but now we are so pleased with it! We have had these arrangements at our Wedding Fayres and have had many compliments from Brides to Be and their families.
This is the Bridesmaid Posy, as mentioned above you can see the new technique we have been experimenting with and we are thrilled with the results!
The Flower Girl Basket is perfect for any young bridesmaid and we have created it with this in mind, lightweight and yet still eye catching!
The Buttonholes and Corsage have been made to match the other arrangements but very simply, we decided against using the bigger flowers like the stargazer lilies, as we wanted all the arrangements to be elegant and not too cumbersome. The Corsage has also been made with this in mind and can be adapted to fit a bracelet or band if a wrist corsage is preferred.
The Centre Piece doubles up as a table number to reduce clutter on the tables at a reception/ wedding breakfast. It is also designed to be elegant yet simple.
This collection although beautiful and elegant is reasonably priced too! If you would like more information on prices please contact us! We hope to be able to attach a picture of the Topiary soon!
Next we would like to introduce our most creatively challenging piece so far! We haven't been able to come up with a name yet so maybe someone has a good suggestion, let us know!
This is designed to be very elegant but to also stand out and make a statement! It has been created using Roses and Hydrangeas of differing shades of Pink and Ivory/ White, Ivy (one of our favourite foliages!) and opalescent beads.
This piece took over 3 hours to make from start to finish! We are so thrilled with the results and again have had this at our two Wedding Fayres and we have been told how beautiful and unusual it is!
The final new product started out as a late night experiment, we wanted to create some sort of cake topper, so that if our brides want everything co-ordinating including the cake then we can make a cake topper to match their other arrangements.
We had to purchase a dummy cake because showing it alone didn't give the right image of the sweeping ivy that we wanted. It is very simply made using deep red roses and Ivy, very simple yet striking and we think it would look incredible on top of a nicely decorated tiered wedding cake. (That is a bit more to scale than the rather small dummy we have had to use!)
We plan on making a few more toppers and we have quite a few ideas, so keep watching watch this space.
We hope you have enjoyed looking at our new products and the little insight into our creative thought process. If you would like to know anything about any of the new products please contact us and we will be happy to help!
October 2016- We have had a very busy couple of months, we've had fayres, consultations, meetings and been creating new products! Unfortunately not much time to update our blog! We have a very rare weekend off this weekend so will be coming up with lots of new products and will be putting up photos of our Halloween and Christmas Range! We have been on a very exciting training course to work with willow in order to create our lovely new wreaths and Christmas decorations, so watch this space!
Firstly our fayres, we have attended many different wedding fayres and craft fairs and met some wonderful people, stallholders, customers, and brides to be and their families. We have been very excited to show off our new products at these fayres and the wonderful stands that Rob has made for us to display our arrangements on!
We have been to wedding fayres in The Copthorne Hotel, Porthcawl Pavillion, The Vale Resort and St. Mellon's Golf Club. We had a wonderful time at all of these fayres and are pleased to announce that we have had some wonderful brides to be who have had consultations and placed their bookings for their weddings next year! We've even come up with new products because of some of our brides to be! Such as our large topiaries, made using real blackthorn/ hazel that we have lovingly harvested from the local woods! You can see them in the photos below of our stands at the wedding fayres, below.
Now the exciting bit!
We are happy to introduce some new products. Firstly our new bird cage centrepieces!
The purple one has been made to look like the roses and ivy are wrapping their way out of the cage. They have been placed with Hydrangeas and a Cream Peony to give a varied texture and to add a bit more depth and colour.
The blue and white cage has been created using the roses as a ring around the bottom of the cage, with gyp placed in between and carnations in the middle in a ring around the candle holder.
Next is the Lovey Dovey Cake Topper. This has been created using a hydrangea blossom as a nest for a Bride and Groom dove lovingly looking at each other. The cake topper is finished off with a co-ordinating ribbon held in place by a clear diamante pin.
As seen in the pictures above we have also created our large topiaries, perfect for the doorway into the ceremony and/or reception.
November 2016- We have been very busy over the past few weeks designing and making our Christmas Range! Here are some of the products we are making this year, there are more to come so watch this space!

Our Table Centres are below. The two large ones are £15 and the smaller ones are £10. These are all made using real logs as a base and artificial Christmas foliage. Candles are included.
Below are our Yule Log Candle Holders, supplied with plain white tealight candles. Real logs have been used and artificial Christmas foliage has been added to them as well as the glass candle holders. Large (3 Candles) are £15 and Small (2 Candles) are £10.
February 2017- After a very busy Christmas period we are now back to attending Wedding Fayres and other craft fairs. We have done two so far and it has been lovely to meet more Brides to Be and their families. We have many more booked in and are looking forward to introducing some special arrangements which are perfect for Mother's Day, so watch this space!
We have introduced Package Deals now and these can be found in our Weddings section on the website, we have added a photo of the page below for you all to see as well.
We have attended more consultations with some of our lovely Brides and are really looking forward to completing the arrangements for their weddings in June, July and August this year! Looks like we will have plenty to do this summer!
A very small blog update this time but we have a very exciting and busy time ahead of us and new products coming soon!
Watch this space!
May 2017- It's been a while since the last Blog update, but Wedding Season is well and truly under way! We are very busy preparing the arrangements for our Brides to Be and are looking forward to delivering the completed arrangements to their venues on the day of their weddings.
Alongside the Wedding preparations we had a request from a customer to create an Enchanted Rose Light for their friend's birthday and we are pleased to announce that we will be offering these products now as they have become very popular!
The Enchanted Roses can be made using many different coloured Roses, and can have a painted (or glitter) base of your choosing as well. You can also choose whether to have glitter on the rose petals and the lights wrapped around the rose or not, we aim to provide Enchanted Roses that are made exactly as you want them! When the lights are added there is a channel underneath the base that the wire sits in so the Enchanted Rose doesn't rock and it is easier to change the batteries!
July 2017- We have been very busy the last few months preparing for our four weddings in July! We have had a lot of fun creating individual and bespoke arrangements for our wonderful Brides. We have received some photos from one of our Brides Jennifer, and have put these in a dedicated section on the website called "Our Brides" we have also put her lovely review alongside her photos. So check it out!
We have taken some very basic photos of our arrangements before they were delivered/ collected by our Brides and we have some amazing photos of our bird cages in place in Manor Park in Swansea!
We also have some photos of some summer pastel centre pieces that we made for The Foresters Friendly Society which were used at a dinner. It's so lovely seeing our arrangements in place! We really love receiving the photos from our wonderful customers.
As well as our very exciting Wedding Season we have been coming up with new designs and ideas for arrangements and gifts that we can make and have bought all the new materials for some very cute little products, , so watch this space!
Unfortunately the old blog posts stop there as this was when we found out the exciting news that we were expecting a baby! The next nine months was a whirlwind! In May 2018 our son Thomas was born, and our lives became a lot fuller and busier and I had to make the hard decision to take a break from Flossy’s Flowers in the case of attending wedding and craft fairs t embrace my new job as Mum!
